Lauren Witte, Teacher for Pacific Beach Improv Comedy Classes

Hi, I am Lauren Witte and I am an improv comedy instructor at Exuberant Theatre Company! I am honored to have the privilege to work with you!

My theatre experience dates all the way back to my childhood where I began my career as a competitive dancer. With a particular interest in tap and musical theatre dancing, I decided it was time to pursue theatre full time starting in high school. There I was ranked the second highest musical theatre dancer in all of the schools in the California Educational Theatre Association.

When it came time to pursue my undergraduate studies, I decided to begin my journey at the University of Redlands, on track to receive a BA in Theatre Arts and English Literature. There I joined my first Improv team, Citizen Kale, where we performed bi-weekly long form improv shows. Our improv troupe became a campus wide success–encouraging other students to join our team and our drama club The Rabbit Hole Theatre Company where I served as the volunteer coordinator.

In the fall of 2021, I studied abroad in London where I received a diploma in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). A large focus of my studies were focused on textual analysis, character development with Shakespearean and Jacobean works. I also had the pleasure of discovering Shakespearean improv and hopping out of my comfort zone with something different from the usual long form improvisation I was doing back in Redlands.

Once I graduated from University of Redlands in 2023, I pursued a career in improv catered towards younger audiences. I am currently employed by Legoland California Resort as an improv storyteller, magician, and stage performer. This experience taught me an even wider range of improv techniques. It especially taught me the importance of catering improvisational approaches and storytelling to specific audiences.

I am so excited to work with you all! I cannot wait to have fun, discover, and collaborate in a wonderful space that is Exuberant Theatre Company.
